Subscription Terms

These Subscription Terms ("Sub Terms") govern your purchase and use of paid, auto-renewable subscriptions to access premium features in the Unhook app ("App"), operated by Lexom Inc. ("Lexom", "Unhook", "we", "us", "our"). By purchasing or renewing a subscription, you agree to these Sub Terms, our Terms and Conditions, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use any paid subscription.

1. Important Disclaimers for Paid Features

Premium features (including advanced recovery tools, insights, tracking, analytics, content, and support enhancements) are provided for general educational and informational purposes only. They do not constitute:

  • Medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, counseling, or professional addiction recovery services
  • A substitute for professional healthcare, therapy, or counseling
  • A doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship

No specific results, sobriety outcomes, habit changes, or health improvements are guaranteed. Individual results vary widely and depend on many factors beyond the App. You should:

  • Always consult qualified healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, therapists, counselors, or addiction specialists) for personalized advice
  • Seek immediate professional help in cases of crisis, severe distress, or emergency
  • Not rely solely on the App or its premium features for managing addiction, mental health, or any related condition

2. Subscription Plans

Unhook offers auto-renewable subscription plans providing access to premium features, which may include (but are not limited to):

  • Advanced recovery tools and insights
  • Progress tracking and analytics
  • Exclusive educational and motivational content
  • Enhanced community features and support

Current subscription plans, pricing, and billing periods are displayed within the App and on the App Store product page at the time of purchase. We may modify, add, or remove plans or features at any time, provided material changes comply with applicable law and these Sub Terms.

3. Payment Method

All subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store and charged to your Apple ID account. Payment is charged at purchase confirmation and for each subsequent renewal period. By subscribing, you authorize Apple to charge your account on a recurring basis.

4. Billing and Auto-Renewal

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Key billing details:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Renewal is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period at the then-current subscription price
  • You authorize recurring charges to your Apple ID account
  • Prices include applicable taxes as displayed at the time of purchase

5. Free Trials

If a free trial is offered with a subscription plan:

  • No charge applies during the free trial period
  • Any unused portion of the trial is forfeited upon purchasing a paid subscription
  • Your subscription will auto-renew and you will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial expires
  • Free trials may be limited to new users or subject to specific eligibility criteria
  • Trial availability and duration are displayed in the App at the time of signup

6. Managing and Cancelling Your Subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device settings:

iPhone / iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Unhook

  • Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription — you must cancel through your device settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period
  • You retain access to premium features until the end of the period you have already paid for
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period

7. Price Changes

We may adjust subscription prices or introduce new plans. If a price change affects your existing subscription, you will receive advance notice through the App or as required by Apple's App Store policies. Price changes apply only at the next renewal period. Continued use of your subscription after renewal at the new price constitutes acceptance of the updated pricing.

8. Refunds

All subscription purchases and renewals are final and non-refundable, except as expressly required by applicable law or Apple's App Store policies.

  • Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple — not by Unhook
  • To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Deleting your account or ceasing use of the App does not entitle you to a refund
  • We do not guarantee refunds for partial billing periods, dissatisfaction, or any other reason

9. Access After Cancellation or Expiration

When your subscription is cancelled or expires:

  • Premium access continues until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the free version of the App
  • Your recovery and progress data remains accessible (unless you delete your account), but premium-only features become unavailable
  • We are not liable for any loss of access, data, or perceived value after your subscription expires

10. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

Premium features and subscriptions are provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties (express or implied) regarding fitness, performance, results, uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or suitability for any purpose — especially health-related outcomes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lexom Inc., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors ("Protected Parties") are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from subscriptions, premium features, or these Sub Terms, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
  • Health outcomes, emotional distress, or medical costs
  • Addiction-related harm or reliance on the App

Total liability (if any) is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions limit liability exclusions; in those cases, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Sub Terms excludes or limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) or other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.

11. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law and not resulting from Lexom's own negligence or willful misconduct, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Protected Parties from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your misuse of premium features or subscriptions in violation of these Sub Terms
  • Violation of any applicable law
  • Any content you submit or share within the App

This indemnification obligation does not apply to users who are minors under the laws of their jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Sub Terms

We may update these Sub Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App, via email, or other reasonable means. Continued subscription use or renewal after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Sub Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Sub Terms shall be resolved in accordance with Section 17 (Dispute Resolution) of our Terms and Conditions.

14. Governing Law

These Sub Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada. If any provision conflicts with mandatory laws in your jurisdiction, those mandatory laws prevail to the extent of the conflict.

15. Entire Agreement

These Sub Terms, together with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lexom Inc. regarding your use of the App, as further described in Section 21 of the Terms and Conditions.
