Start with the action you need
Apple manages billing for Unhook subscriptions purchased through the App Store. To stop renewal, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Unhook on your iPhone or iPad. To recover an existing purchase inside Unhook, use Restore Purchases. A refund is a separate request through Apple.
Unhook is free to download; a subscription unlocks the complete recovery system. Your purchase screen and Apple subscription record show your actual offer, currency, billing period, and renewal information. See Unhook pricing for an overview, and subscription terms for the terms of purchase.
Cancel Unhook on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Unhook.
- Review the plan, choose Cancel Subscription, and complete the prompts.
- Check Apple’s resulting status and expiry information.
Apple says a missing cancellation button or red expiration message means it is already canceled. To avoid renewing a trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Check your offer’s terms for when access ends.
If Unhook is missing, check the receipt for the purchasing Apple Account; it may belong to another family member. See Apple’s subscription cancellation guide. Uninstalling Unhook does not stop billing.
You paid, but Unhook asks you to subscribe again
First check that the subscription is active in Apple’s subscription settings and that your device uses the Apple Account that purchased it. Restoring asks the app to check an existing purchase; it does not cancel renewal or create a refund request.
- Open Unhook with an internet connection and sign in to your existing Unhook account.
- If you can access the main app, open Profile → settings gear → Manage Subscription in Support & Feedback.
- Choose Restore Purchases and wait for the result. If you are on a subscription screen, look for its restore option instead.
- If access is still missing, note the error and contact Unhook support before buying again.
App labels and available screens can vary by version and language. If you cannot find a restore control, contact us with the Unhook version and screen name. Apple’s purchase restoration guidance also recommends checking the purchasing account and purchase permissions, and restarting the device if restoration fails. An expired subscription will not become active simply because you restore it.
Restoring a subscription concerns paid access. It does not promise recovery of deleted journal entries, streak history, or account data. If your question is about missing progress, describe that separately to support.
Request a refund for an Apple charge
Sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com with the purchasing Apple Account. Select the refund-request option, choose the reason, select the Unhook charge, and submit your request to Apple. If the charge is still pending, Apple says to wait for the receipt before requesting a refund.
Approval is not guaranteed. Apple evaluates the request, and eligibility varies by country or region; applicable consumer rights still apply. Read Apple’s refund instructions for missing charges and request status. If you also want to stop future renewal, review and cancel the subscription separately. A message to Unhook support does not itself submit an Apple refund request.
Cancellation, deletion, and refunds are different actions
| Action | Purpose | Where to do it |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel subscription | Stop future renewal. | Apple subscription settings. |
| Restore purchases | Check paid access you already purchased. | Unhook’s restore control. |
| Request a refund | Ask Apple to review a past charge. | Apple’s Report a Problem website. |
| Delete an account or data | Request removal of account information. | Unhook’s account controls or support. |
Canceling does not delete your Unhook account. Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Read the confirmation screens and the privacy policy before deleting information. Our account and privacy help explains how to find the account controls and request assistance.
